Swim Teacher - Baby Classes
Splash Palace Swim School is a leading swim school dedicated to providing a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for children to learn and love the water. We specialise in swim programs for children of all ages, including infants and toddlers.
We're looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to be trained as a Swim Teacher for our baby classes, to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term parental leave cover. In this role, you'll lead engaging and age-appropriate swim classes for infants and toddlers (ages 6 months to 3 years), helping to build water confidence and essential aquatic skills in a supportive and playful setting.
This position is part-time, with shifts scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday mornings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver fun, interactive, and structured swim lessons for babies and toddlers with their caregivers
- Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all swimmers and families
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, offering feedback and support
- Work collaboratively with the swim school team to uphold high teaching standards
- Maintain accurate class records and attendance
What We're Looking For:
- Warm, patient, and engaging personality with a passion for early childhood development
- Austswim/Swim Australia Teacher of Infant & Preschool Aquatics qualification (or willingness to obtain)
- Current CPR and Working With Children Check (or state equivalent)
- Availability to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Saturday mornings

The Invercargill City Council is committed to the wellbeing and protection of children, the elderly and vulnerable adults. As a component of this role involves interaction with one or more of the above groups, as part of the assessment of candidates, we will require Police Vetting as per the Children's Act 2014 and a Pre-employment Alcohol and Drug Screening test to ensure we are providing a safe environment for our customers and members of the public.
