Design & Marketing Specialist

As part of our Digital and Communications team, the Design & Marketing Specialist is responsible for helping us look amazing - designing eye-catching advertising and promotional materials. You will contribute to web and social media content ensuring we are visually engaging and promoting ourselves across all marketing channels. A natural storyteller, you will contribute creative ideas to our award winning social media team.

It's essential you have a background or qualification within graphic design, marketing, and/or video production plus experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and other digital software. You will have excellent written and oral communication and be highly organized. You will be innovative, positive and sensitive to a broad range of social, cultural and ethnic groups within our community.

You will be part of a welcoming team and have plenty of scope in this role to fulfil the day to day responsibilities but also be involved in upcoming projects.

Our library is open seven days a week so flexibility around working hours including weekend days and late nights is required.

The Invercargill City Council is committed to the wellbeing and protection of children, the elderly and vulnerable adults. As a component of this role involves interaction with one or more of the above groups, as part of the assessment of candidates, we will require Police Vetting as per the Vulnerable Children's Act 2014 and a Pre-employment Alcohol and Drug Screening test to ensure we are providing a safe environment for our customers and members of the public.
