We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Programme Director, on a permanent full-time basis, to provide strategic and operational leadership in the planning and delivery of major capital works projects.
Reporting to the Group Manager - Infrastructure, this pivotal position will see you lead the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring the successful delivery of infrastructure programmes on time, within budget, and of exceptional quality. You'll lead performance excellence, build strong partnerships with stakeholders, and cultivate a culture of innovation, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving.
What you'll do:
- Provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of major capital infrastructure projects and programmes.
- Drive performance and foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture within the PMO.
- Coach, mentor, and inspire the PMO team to achieve performance excellence.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and scope, to the highest quality standards—and with key stakeholder satisfaction.
- Build strong partnerships with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and the wider community.
- Support the ongoing development of the PMO, ensuring it remains fit-for-purpose and future-ready to meet the city's infrastructure needs.
- Champion best practice procurement, financial stewardship, and project reporting.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years' experience delivering large-scale civil engineering projects, with 5+ years in senior leadership.
- Strong background in contract management, procurement, and capital programme delivery.
- A results-driven mindset with a passion for public infrastructure.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong political, contractual, and procurement acumen.
- A focus on safety, risk management, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior leadership and public forums.
