Rates Administration Officer

Our friendly Financial Services team are seeking a Rates Administration Officer.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Ensure that applications for the Department of Internal Affairs Rates Rebate scheme are processed in a timely manner
  • Answer rates enquiries
  • Collect rates, sundry debt and water charges on due dates
  • Ensure accurate and timely direct debit administration including setting up and maintaining direct debits and following up on dishonours
  • Assist in ensuring that all information pertaining to the rating information database remains up to date and accurate in accordance with legislation and Council policy

What you will bring:

  • NCEA or equivalent to level 3 with passes in Mathematics and English
  • 2 - 3 years' experience as a Finance Officer or similar accounting support role
  • Good working knowledge of IT software systems, including competency in MS Word and MS Excel
  • Self-motivated with good time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
