Our Financial Services Team are seeking an accountant.
The hours of work for this position are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday for a fixed-term period of 6 months to cover parental leave.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Preparation of monthly management reports for Invercargill City Holdings Limited (ICHL) and HWCP Management Limited (HWCPL)
- General Ledger Management, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and debtor management
- Preparation of cashflow forecasts, annual budgets and treasury management
- Assisting with the preparation of the Annual Reports for Invercargill City Holdings Limited and subsidiary entities
- Provide support with financial system management and continuous improvement projects
- Providing project-level support to the Invercargill City Council finance team
What you will bring:
- A minimum of three years' post graduate experience in management and financial accounting within large and diverse organisations
- Post Graduate Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Chartered Accountant designation - or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and determine the business implications
- Strong computer skills with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience of making recommendations and influencing people to deliver business goals
- Experience of driving planning and performance management
- A strong understanding of accounting and reporting
