Procurement Administrator

As our Procurement Administrator, you'll play a key role in supporting procurement activities across Council. From coordinating procurement processes and maintaining accurate records to supporting supplier engagement, you'll help ensure goods and services are acquired efficiently, compliantly and in line with best practice. Working with colleagues and suppliers across a diverse range of projects and services, you'll gain valuable experience in procurement and contract management within a local government environment.

What you will do:

  • Coordinate procurement activities through the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS).
  • Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, templates and registers.
  • Support tender processes and supplier communications.
  • Assist with supplier onboarding and relationship management.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and audit trails.
  • Process requisitions and purchase orders through TechOne
  • Support continuous improvement of procurement systems and processes.

What you will bring:

  • NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Business Administration or a related discipline; or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in an administration or business support role.
  • Ability to quickly understand and maintain complex processes
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • A customer-focused approach and ability to build positive relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday, with standard hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm.
