Are you a governance guru with a passion for strategic impact and stakeholder engagement? Join our warm and collaborative Finance and Assurance team as a Senior Advisor and Support - ICHL, where your expertise will help shape the success of our key council-controlled trading organisations.
In this dynamic role, you'll be the go-to support for board chairs and members across Invercargill City Holdings Limited, Invercargill Airport Limited, and Electricity Invercargill Limited. You'll also lend your strategic insight to a variety of high-impact projects that make a real difference in our community.

This is a full-time role (40 hours/week), typically Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm, with flexibility and occasional requirements agreed outside standard hours.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Providing expert governance advice and high-level support to boards.
- Preparing clear, concise reports and briefings that meet governance and legislative standards.
- Developing and maintaining robust policies and procedures, and offering strategic policy advice.
- Managing board-driven projects, ensuring timely delivery and effective progress tracking.
- Coordinating workshops, travel, and other board activities with senior executives and stakeholders.
- Taking minutes and following up on resolutions and actions to ensure accountability.
What you will bring:
- Minimum 3 years' experience with local government meeting or democratic processes.
- Experience operating as a Senior Policy Advisor or Policy Advisor or similar in a local, regional or central government environment.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information.
- Familiarity with legislative compliance and governance frameworks.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Experience working with commercial boards and senior stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational, prioritisation and communication skills with the ability to learn new concepts and specialist industry concepts quickly.
